Been thinking of the sons of Issachar, the bible refers to them as men who knew the times and understood the seasons! They were part of David's army a very vital component of what their commander needed at the time. I began to realise that this principle for war does not stop with the army only but boils down to our individual lives, because it is so easy to miss God's timing & seasons, to miss answered prayers or times of visitations. Mostly because as human nature we have unconsciously put God in a box, given the limitation of the workings of our mind, we are not able to comprehend the depths and the heights of how God works. We could have been praying over something for a time and then the answer comes most often it comes in a package that doesn't appear like what we have been asking for and because we have not grown attuned to the father we miss the answer that meaning we go through another season of asking and waiting. If we took the intial steps of asking God to open our minds, pull us out of the box of our own thinking, throw away prejudices, destroy our so evading mindset, to see things the way he sees them, then we do stand a chance of being like the sons of Isaachar men who were heralded and known for knowing the times.
i think again of Elijah during the three years of drought, he asks his servant to look towards the sea and tell him what he sees, Elijah had already heard the sound of rain, seven times he sends his servant and all he sees is a 'A cloud as small as a man’s hand rising from the sea', he commands him to go before the rain overtakes him.
Elijah knew the times, he had accustomed himself to hearing the voice of God, he could tell that a cloud as small as a fist would turn into a torrent of rain. He didnt miss the season, this ought to be our prayer & a diligent cry to God that we would not miss the season of our lives, that we would get out of a cycle of missing answers to prayers because we are not able to see what God is doing. Remember his timing is not ours and is always the best, .....so my friend keep your eyes open, change your mentality, remove any prejudices, change your mindset, this could be your season don't miss it!!

Shaketra Clarke "I love this part, "Mostly because as human nature we have unconsciously put God in a box..." It is so true, so important to know His voice and what it sounds like. To be able to distinguish His voice, what He is telling us and to obey. As John 10:27 (NIV) says, "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me." Thanks for posting this Phoebe! xx
